Nanaimo Travellers Lodge is home to 90 people with dementia where the emphasis is on creating a place that feels like home.  With lots of family pictures, Shadow the resident cat, colourful decorations, antique furniture and views into the great gardens, the staff have created a warm and cozy atmosphere.  Nanaimo Travellers Lodge is a place where residents receive care tailored to their individual needs. 

Our Mission
Our mission is to provide safety, care, comfort, support and compassion for all our residents, clients and family caregivers in a pleasing environment. The staff is specially trained to deliver innovative care to all residents at various stages of dementia.

Our Vision
Our vision is to provide expanded, more specialized services in enhanced larger facilities as a centre of excellence for dementia care.

Nanaimo Travellers Lodge is a non-profit organization that has been operating in the Vancouver Island community since 1979.  The facility was founded by the Nanaimo Travellers Lodge Society whose members belong to the Associated Canadian Travellers. Nanaimo Travellers Lodge is affiliated with the Vancouver Island Health Authority and is fully accredited by the Canadian Council of Health Services Accreditation, an independent accreditation body.
